<p>The features described in this section correspond directly to SRFI-14.
</p>
<p>The data type <em class="dfn">charset</em> implements sets of characters
(see <a class="pxref" href="Characters.html">Characters</a>). Because the internal representation of
character sets is not visible to the user, a lot of procedures for
handling them are provided.
</p>
<p>Character sets can be created, extended, tested for the membership of a
characters and be compared to other character sets.
